In 2020, Szombierki was added to the Europa Nostra list of endangered cultural monuments, a testament to its historical significance. Yet, today, the building faces an uncertain future, with its existence under serious threat. In mid-2022, the power plant was sold to a private owner, who plans a full renovation.
